Seattle trip part 3?

Tia Carissa loved to be lulled awake by Belize and Rio's melodious piano duets.
Downtown at the Mayer's office, taking Abeulo out to lunch, or was it the other way around? :)
Belize is obsessed with the market, she mainly likes it so much because that is where Beulo takes her to buy salmon (and if you know Belize, you know how much she likes salmon). She's been talking about going to the market with him for months.

We also picked up a bouquet of tulips for Great-Grandma Gregg's birthday while she's staying at my parents. Belize insisted they be pink and gently kissed each blossom. Then she was too shy to give the to Grandma, but I think she still liked them. :)
Eating at the famous Crumpet Shop. Hmmmm, just thinking about them is making my mouth water. Here is Belize trying to fit the whole crumpet in her mouth!

Pacific Science Center outing with Paul, Anessa and their newest addition, Addison (Cooper, their dog had to stay in the car, poor Cooper, he missed out).

Michelle and her friend Brenna invited me to a fashion show downtown. It was bizarrely interesting but the company was fantastic!

Belize had a date with Abuelo riding the light rain and splashing in the puddles (is that in the International District?)
Bro and I finally found Abuelo and Belize. Belize fell asleep on his shoulder listening to the Nordstrom piano player.
Abuela teaching Rio how to make the perfect maza for tomales.

Soon to be wed, D-rock and Belle. Aw, aren't they cute?

The Olsens came over for tomales and some serious wii playing. Above is Ashley, Meg and Belize playing dancedancerevolution and below is the whole gang minus Julie (maybe she was taking the picture). Meg, Belize, Kate, Caleb, Lance, and Ashely. Belize is also LOVES her cousins and has been talking about seeing them for months. She waited on the front lawn until they arrived.

Aunt Sarah and Belize getting some cuddle/silly time.

I don't know why we didn't get a picture of the whole party. The Garcias had a party for the West Seattle Crew and pretty much everyone was their except Keily (in Chicago). These are the Perrins with new addition Colton- so cute!

A trip to the aquarium with Abuelo and Abuela.

I think Rio is helping Tia Carissa play Farmville in this pic.
Belize and Nala are great buds, although Belize tries to boss her around in Spanish all the time which Nala ignores.
Getting teased by Buelo
Rio wasn't fazed by Nala, Nala on the other hand learned quite quickly to run the other way! :) Rio ran around yelling NADA!! NADA!!!

Besties!

Keri and I were curious to see how Naya and Belize would act after not seeing each other for 6 months, this is a video of their re-uniting:

We were also curious to see how Rio would act w/ Mari now that they are now on more of a fair playing field (developmentally speaking). Tio Zoram thought it would be funny to dress Rio up and send him out in front of all of our friends (and Dad). It was pretty funny and he got so excited about the attention he was receiving- he's such a ham!

Vacation w/in our vacation.

We have to privilege of being friends w/ some of the seriously most wonderful people on the planet. They are the ying to our yang and unfortunately we don't get to see eachother often enough (someday that will hopefully be rectified - in our future co-op, (Keri, that lady on househunters was SO annoyingly green!)). Anywho, we decided we needed an adult vacation, which included a fabulous condo, brats, x-country skiinng, sledding, stinky hottubbing (for the boys), amazing white chile, lots and lots of cookies, puzzles, Ticket to Ride and a romantic evening at Visconti's (if you ever to to Leavenworth you HAVE to go THERE!!!!) The infamous Leavenworth Hat Shop.

We're not very good at getting group shots, this is our best one to date.

This was Keri's first time skiing - EVER! She did fantastic inspite of having some stomach flu while maintaining her ridiculously good looking model photogenosity (I know its not a word, I made it up). I mean, wow! Zoram is one lucky man, I wish I looked that good on a good day, let alone w/ the stomach flu! That said, now I can post this video:

Who can't have enough Christmas?

Our kids, that's who! Once we got to Seattle it was Christmas as usual, the Ortons even kept their Christmas tree up and ALIVE, Belize kept asking, "Is it Christmas?" Kids got presents and precious grandparent time while Brannon and I got Christmas dinner and sleeping in (probably the first time since Belize was born)!

This saxophone was a fan favorite, apparently even Abuelo had to test it out before it was even wrapped. :)
I just love the crotch shot on this picture- haha!
Grandpa got this elaborate Music box that plays the nutcracker with changing scenes and twirling ballerina's. He CLAIMS he bought it for Nana but still reserved rights to be the first to show it to Belize. She was mesmerized and watched it for hours! I bet it is still on their island awaiting Belize's return.

Christmas Morning

Christmas eve we took it easy and got El Burrito Jr.- delicious! And acted out the nativity with my mom's stuffed nativity set, then it was off to bed for everyone except the elves and Santa Clause!

Belize made this sweet ornament for us in nursery, she was so excited to give it to us that I think she must have opened it 5 times before Christmas.

I painted this for Belize.
It's her silhouette.

Ortho Party

It seems that once a year the ortho departments ACTUALLY gets together (seriously, this is the first time I've met the people Brannon works with 95 hours a week!) at their Ortho Christmas Party!From L to R: Albert w/ wife, Marie, John Gelber w/ wife, Melina, Max aka Brambilla w/ fiance, Emma and Brannon. These guys are the 1st year residents.
There was a white elephant exchange and Brannon lucked out with this sassy snuggy! Here he is showing it off!

Belize words

Christmas post is coming soon, I promise! But until then a quick post on words Belize says that I adore!
"Pisawnya" = Lasagna
"Pinochsky" (kinda sounds like Pinochio) = Piroski
"Brain" = Braid
"Nabbigale" = Nightgown
"Pancakes" = Cupcakes
"Prebiews" = Previews

I suppose I should correct her but I just CAN'T!!! It is just too dang cute. Plus, who ever heard of a 12 year old calling her braids, brains?
